Topping outOct 05 2017
The sun shone brightly for our Topping Out Ceremony yesterday. Justin Tomlinson, MP tightened the bolt on the roof with a ceremonial spanner.
Graham Davis, Principal was joined by Councillor David Renard, Leader of the Swindon Borough Council and directors from BAM who are constructing the building.
The traditional ceremony dates backs over many centuries and is one of a number of customs observed within the construction industry to have survived into modern times. Topping out marks the excellent progress to date in the construction of the school and to celebrate the successful partnership of the whole team.
Neil Dorrington, Construction Director at BAM said "Every school we build is different. For us, it's about meeting the people involved with it and how we tailor it to suit their requirements".
After hosting events during September which have been very well attended we have been excited to see positive engagement with families of prospective students.
There is still time to apply for a place in Year 7 or Year 12. The closing date for Year 7 applications is October 31st and for Year 12 is December 22.
