Equipment List

In order for every student to achieve and strive for excellence, it is important that they have all they need to do this. We believe this starts with being prepared for learning. Should a student not arrive to school each day prepared for their learning, they are already on the back foot. As a result, it is vital that every student must have the following basic items of equipment for every lesson. These items will be checked by tutors on a daily basis:

 

  • Laptop

  • Pencil case         

  • Black or blue ball point pen (and a spare) and green ball point pen

  • Pencil

  • Glue Stick

  • Pencil eraser

  • 30cm ruler

  • Pencil sharpener

  • Calculator

  • Protractor

  • Pair of compasses

Each morning tutors will check this equipment, should there be an issue with basic equipment, tutors will support students with loaning that equipment for the day, so their learning is not impacted. If, for whatever reason, you struggle to purchase equipment please speak to your child’s Head of Year or Pastoral Intervention Leader.

 

Laptops

At Great Western Academy, students are provided with a laptop that remains in school for their duration of time with us. It is the responsibility for the students to look after these devices and ensure they take them to every lesson. This is crucial to ensure they are ready for learning and access the planned work appropriately.
